On 10 June 2026, PATHFINDER held its Bulgarian national participatory dialogue, “Youth, Artificial Intelligence and the Labour Market: All Inclusive”, in Sofia. The event was organised by the Policy and Citizens’ Observatory (PCO) and brought together 48 young people, employers, educators, local authorities, civil society representatives, media and other stakeholders.

Participants explored three closely connected issues: entering the labour market, developing the skills needed in an AI-driven economy, and addressing digital inequalities. Discussions highlighted that access to AI does not automatically mean being prepared to use it effectively. Participants emphasised the importance of practical AI education, critical thinking and ensuring that young people at risk of digital exclusion are not left behind.

These priorities shaped the Bulgarian Research Agenda and Action Plan, which places responsible AI use, practical learning, stronger entry-level opportunities and digital inclusion among the key areas for future action.
